Alternate World

My alternate world symbolizes dreaming. Dreaming tends to leave your  mind in a state of peace which is the feeling I tried to depict. Dreams are full of magic and wonder, they temporarily relieve you from all the stress you feel in the real world.
I used the following images: Moon, Fairy, Sky Background, Flower Field Background, Frog, Flower, Wolf, Girl
I'm proud of the way I created the fairies and the hanging stars. I could improve the lit up flowers that I placed around the dreaming girl, as well as how I fit the girl into the scene.

Hybrid Animal

For my hybrid animal project I used the following animals; possum, tiger, white bengal tiger, 2 different rabbits, and a baby cheetah. I used the body shape of the possum and its front legs and then covered the body using the baby cheetah fur with the clone stamp. I placed the baby cheetah's head on top of this body and then blended some of the fur from the tiger in the face. From the first rabbit I selected the floppy ears and the second rabbit i used the back foot. The last thing i did was place the tail from the white bengal tiger onto my hybrid animal.
I wanted my hybrid animal to be small so I decided to place it in a flower bush where it balances on a branch. I added a dark shadow on the ground and branch-like shadows across the animal itself. They build nests in the ground under bushes and sleep there at night.
My hybrid animal is an herbivore, its front paws are used to grasp onto plants and hold food. Its teeth are sharp enough to open the shells on seeds and nuts. The back feet are strong enough to balance the animal while reaching for food in higher places.

Kaleidoscope

Near Symmetry
For this one I created two different basic kaleidoscopes using only steps 1-5. I then rotated one of the kaleidoscopes at a 45 degree angle and placed it behind my first one that was kept at a 90 degree angle. I used one image that I created myself in Photoshop to make this kaleidoscope. Out of all 3 products, this one is my favorite.

Biaxial Symmetry
This kaleidoscope I tried to make more complex than my others. I repeated steps 1-6 several times while also changing the size of each layer so that the ones behind it would be visible. Once I had created a kaleidoscope with many 45 degree and 90 degree pieces that contained a center I liked, I duplicated the whole kaleidoscope and reduced its size to fit in a corner of the canvas. I then placed one in each corner to keep it symmetrical and balanced.

Radial Symmetry
For this kaleidoscope I used a lot of rotation and duplication, I kept it simple and just used a lot of layers. After the kaleidoscope was done I edited the colors to make them brighter and more colorful.

Overall, I did not like this project. Its very hard to get every measurement exactly perfect so that there is no space in-between each piece. Because of that, it was very difficult to make perfect symmetry. My only strength on this project was my skills in Photoshop. I think I should get a passing grade because I followed the directions and used my own ideas.
